Honesty ..!
I remember that day when i was with a customer and he give me an advice until today i can’t forget it which is taken from Kent M.Keith which is “Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.”
I was that day asking myself about the meaning of this quote and i was saying to myself what is honesty ? How can i deal with situations ? Should i say the truth or should i lie ?
Until one day i phased a big issue in my work , i had a conflict with one customer , he was recommending an item and someone of my team forget that and he sell the product of the customer so i didn’t know how to deal with that situation , because if i’ll say the truth i know that the customer will do a bad reaction ,and the store wasn’t empty so maybe he will insult me and i will slap him in the face and i have that big imagination in my mind , so i lied to him and i say the product is not good so you need to change him sir , and i get shocked by his answer when he says to me bring me that piece i want to see it ,and i was so stressed and i was saying to myself how can i handle that ? What should i do ? What will happen if i was saying the truth from the first time ? and i was in that circle of questions ..I was saying telling a lie may be easy, but keeping track of it is difficult. Instead, being honest and keeping track of the truth is much easier. .. So i decided to be honest and i tell the customer the truth and i apologize to him even it isn’t my fault and i was so happy because i can handle that situation with the customer and he was satisfied with saying the truth .
To conclude Living an honest life takes effort especially at the beginning. It depends on the decision and some action steps to get it started. But once it begins honesty will become easier and easier.And for this, we should be happy. We can be proud of a system in which people are honest because they want to be, not because they have to be.
